Interprofessional Clinical Conference

Welcome to the 2023 Interprofessional Clinical Conference!  It is the Mississippi Delta Health Collaborative’s aim to provide healthcare professionals with updates on recent advances in team‐based care, comprehensive medication management, and evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of cardiovascular-­related diseases, including hypertension and dyslipidemia. 

Mississippi’s cardiovascular disease mortality rate remains among the highest in the nation, according to the CDC.  The burden of cardiovascular disease in the Mississippi Delta is even more profound, with social drivers of health creating more challenges in our ability to provide care.  Innovations in team-based care can promote hypertension prevention, detection, treatment, and control.  Education surrounding the implementation of team-based care strategies can improve patients’ outcomes and highlight the strengths of each healthcare team member.  We hope that this conference continues to foster professional relationships to improve healthcare, while increasing the quality of life for residents of the Mississippi Delta.
