
Meagan Brown
Dr. Meagan Brown is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the Community and Population Health Research Unit in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS within the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana’s College of Pharmacy in 2010. Upon graduation, Dr. Brown completed a PGY‐ 1 Community Pharmacy Practice Residency and joined faculty.
Her clinical practice site is a federally qualified health center in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where she provides clinical services to patients focused on cardiometabolic diseases, increases access to care by providing telehealth services, and assists providers with other patient needs related to medication access. Additionally, she is a preceptor for both the PGY‐1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program and PGY‐2 Ambulatory Care Residency for the rural health experience. In the classroom, Dr. Brown’s coursework is mainly focused on chronic disease. She is the Team Lead on a required, semester-long course for 3rd year pharmacy students entitled Population and Rural Health.
She currently serves as the chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Standing Committee within the School of Pharmacy, and several committees with other national pharmacy organizations and state organizations, including serving most recently on the Board of Directors as the Convention Planning Chair with the National Pharmaceutical Association from 2020‐2022. Her most recent honor includes being recognized at the MPhA Annual Meeting as the 2023 Recipient of the NASPA Excellence in Innovation Award.
